Currently a TEAM Bodybuilding.com Athlete and IFBB Bikini pro, I participated in just about every sport as a kid. My parents wanted my sisters and I to try many different things, such as sports and piano and violin. I learned early that if I wanted to succeed nothing would be handed to me– I had to go out and get it. It’s true what they say, that “Success is a journey!” and I have come across many challenges in my personal journey.
By high school, I found my niche in the sport of volleyball, joining teams at the national traveling level and winning national championships as an “All- American” athlete.
Finding my “sport” with volleyball was a blessing, as it lead me to play NCAA D1 Athletics and even overseas with USA Athletes International after graduation. Being a student athlete can be difficult; fighting with/against your own teammates for a starting spot is another challenge in itself! It tested my commitment, my discipline and physical strength. I was recruited to receive athletic aid but no matter how hard I played or work, unfortunately that money never came. Despite this set back, I used it as fuel to say 100% committed, and break and set the school record for Career Digs which is a huge accomplishment for me (and for a walk-on athlete). Life threw an unexpected curve-ball and I had two choices: to let it consume me or take control! I took control. My mantra as an athlete is still the same and I vow to never change this: to be an athlete in all aspects of the word. And so, I stepped on stage exactly 1 week after graduation, to challenge myself in a new way– with my diet– a challenge that I never really took on prior to that point.
I found a home in the fitness industry that I honestly did not know existed. I want to see how far I can push myself to improve my physique. I want to share this passion & drive with others to help light this fire inside of them!
